Why Schools Choose Glimmer

Boost math achievement

Glimmer creates instances of a lesson perfectly tailored to each student's academic and SEL profile, then provides just-in-time feedback to students as they walk through problems. Target students' specific misconceptions, not just what they got right or wrong.

Glimmer instantly synthesizes and analyzes student work in real time to create differentiated lessons, so teachers don't need to spend hours at night poring over student work. Insights become actionable during class with teacher strategies for whole-class instruction, optimized groupings, and 1-1 student check-ins.

"Glimmer is much more helpful than traditional edtech platforms. It gives my teachers a daily action they can take, whereas with [other tools] it's hard to take data only a few times a year and use it effectively."

Our Story

Neel Rao

Neel Rao

Co-Founder

Neel is a former high school math teacher and PM at IXL. He graduated from Stanford with a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Symbolic Systems, researching how AI can be used to better measure student learning. He started Glimmer to make it easier to be the kind of teacher he always wanted to be— able to reach every student in a classroom, regardless of where they're at.

Favorite part about teaching:

The handmade artwork I received from my students. Some of them are still framed in my living room!

Co-Founder

Glory is a former Microsoft software engineer and second-time edtech founder. She graduated from USC with a BS in Computer Science and a BS in Business, where she also taught Computer Science to elementary and middle schoolers in LA. She started Glimmer because a teacher's personalized help turned her from a failing math student into Math Team president. Now, she hopes every student can have that same opportunity.

Favorite part about teaching:

The big smiles when students realize they just built their own game from scratch – with code!
